New Year, Better Service: A Note on Our 2026 Labor Rates
Since I started BrownCo, my goal has been simple: provide dealership-level expertise with a “neighbor-helping-neighbor” attitude. Whether it’s getting a stubborn mower to breathe again or teaching a homeowner why their fuel choice matters, I’m committed to keeping your equipment out of the landfill.
To keep providing that level of service—and to ensure I’m around to help you for years to come—I’m making a change to my pricing structure.
Effective March 1st, 2026, my labor rate will be adjusting from $50 to $75 per hour.
Why the change?
I’ll be honest with you—I’m a “fix-it” guy, not a “corporate” guy. But to run a sustainable business, the math has to work.
-
Staying Competitive: Even at $75, BrownCo remains significantly more affordable than the big-box dealerships in the Monroe and Jefferson areas, which often charge $100–$120+ per hour (and come with 3-week wait times).
-
Investing in Expertise: Between my Diesel Tech background and ongoing certifications in four-stroke and failure analysis, you aren’t just paying for someone to “turn a bolt.” You’re paying for a diagnostic mindset that finds the root cause so you don’t have to see me for the same problem twice.
-
Sustainability: This adjustment allows me to keep the lights on, maintain professional-grade tools, and continue offering the educational content you’ve come to expect from me.
What isn’t changing?
-
The Transparency: You will still get a clear breakdown of every repair.
-
The Education: I’ll still show you how to maintain your gear so you don’t have to call me as often.
-
The Integrity: If it’s cheaper to buy a new machine than to fix your old one, I’ll be the first person to tell you. My job is to be your advocate, not just your mechanic.
Beat the Increase
If you have equipment that needs a pre-season tune-up or a lingering repair, book your appointment before March 1st to lock in the current $50/hour rate.
I truly appreciate every one of you who has supported this journey—from my first Facebook followers to my regular local customers. You’re not just funding a business; you’re supporting a local family and a mission to do things the right way.
